Gillan in Portugal
I have a running belief that I am watched over by egrets and herons. I believe so, because in every country I’ve ever been, I see one within a few days of arriving. I landed in Portugal on Tuesday and saw my first egret today. And though the birds are native to every country I’ve ever been in, and I’m well acquainted with the concept of confirmation bias... Well, it's just more fun to believe in guardian angels.
Admittedly the photo is terrible as I was standing in the middle of a highway and my camera was completely zoomed in.
